Questions & Answers about Ruta sa sjeverozapada je opasna, tako da moramo promijeniti položaj.
Why is it sa sjeverozapada instead of iz sjeverozapada or s sjeverozapada?
We use s or sa rather than iz when talking about compass directions, because you are coming from a general side rather than exiting an enclosed space. The extra a is added to make sa because the next word, sjeverozapada, starts with the letter s, making it too hard to pronounce as a single sound.
Does tako da always mean "so" or "so that" in this context?
Yes, tako da is the standard conjunction to express a consequence, translating to "so" or "therefore" in English. It links the dangerous situation to the resulting action of changing position.
Why use the perfective verb promijeniti instead of the imperfective mijenjati?
The perfective promijeniti focuses on the completed result of the change. They need to change the position once and be done with it. If you used the imperfective mijenjati, it would imply an ongoing, continuous, or repeated process of shifting positions.
What case is položaj here, and why does it look like the dictionary form?
