Questions & Answers about هذه نظرية غير موضوعية.
Why do we use غير here instead of a negation word like ليس or لا?
While ليس negates a whole sentence or predicate (meaning "is not"), غير is used right before an adjective or noun to negate it directly, acting just like the English prefixes "un-" or "non-". We are saying "an unobjective theory" rather than "the theory is not objective", so غير is the right choice.
What is the grammatical relationship between غير and موضوعية?
They form an Idafa (genitive possession construct). Because غير is technically a noun meaning "other than", it forces the word immediately after it into the genitive case (majrur). Even though they translate together as an adjective, grammatically it acts like a noun followed by a possessor.
Both نظرية and موضوعية are feminine. Why doesn't غير have a feminine ending?
The word غير is a fixed noun, so it never changes its gender to match the noun it describes. It always stays in this form. However, the adjective that follows it inside the Idafa (موضوعية) still has to match the feminine gender of the main noun (نظرية).
How does the word موضوعية relate to the concept of being "objective"?
It is a Nisba (relational) adjective created from the noun موضوع, which means "subject" or "topic". By adding the feminine relational suffix, it becomes موضوعية, which conceptually means "focused on the subject itself" rather than personal feelings, giving us the word for "objective".
