Usages of إذا

إذا رميت النرد، بدأ دورك.idhâ ramayta an-narda, bada'a dawruka.

If you roll the dice, your turn begins.

إذا انسحب الخصم، انتهى دوره.idhâ insahaba al-khasmu, intahâ dawruhu.

If the opponent quits, his turn ends.

إذا حرك اللاعب القطعة على الرقعة، حصل على نقطة.idhâ harraka l-lâ'ibu l-qit'ata 'alâ r-ruq'ati, hasala 'alâ nuqtatin.

If the player moves the piece on the board, he gets a point.

إذا خسرت النقطة، تراجعت مربعين.idhâ khasirta an-nuqṭata, tarâja'ta murabba'ayni

If you lose the point, you move back two squares.

إذا ارتفعت إيرادات المصنع، زاد سعر السهم بناء على ذلك.idhâ irtafa'at îrâdâtu al-masna'i, zâda si'ru as-sahmi binâ'an 'alâ dhâlika.

If the factory's revenues rose, the stock price increased accordingly.

ألا أحرمك من الهاتف إذا تأخرت؟ بلى، تفعل ذلك.alâ ahrimuka mina l-hâtifi idhâ ta'akhkharta? balâ, tafalu dhâlika.

Don't I deprive you of the phone if you are late? Yes indeed, you do that.

إذا غسل الرجل السيارة، أزال الوسخ.idhâ ghasala r-rajulu s-sayyârata, azâla l-wasakha.

If the man washes the car, he removes the dirt.

إذا شطف العامل الرغوة، أصبحت السيارة نظيفة.idhâ shatafa al-âmilu ar-raghwata, asbahati as-sayyâratu nazîfatan

If the worker rinses the lather, the car becomes clean.

إذا فرك الولد الزجاج، أزال الوسخ.idhâ faraka al-waladu az-zujâja, azâla al-wasakha.

If the boy scrubs the glass, he removes the dirt.

إذا استخدمت الشمع، صار الهيكل لامعا.idhâ istakhdamati ash-shama, sâra al-haykalu lâmian.

If she uses the wax, the frame becomes shiny.

إذا كان هذا البركان نشطا، فسوف نرى فوهته.idhâ kâna hâdhâ al-burkânu nashitan, fasawfa narâ fûhatahu.

If this volcano is active, then we will see its crater.

إذا قذفت الفوهة رمادا، فالهواء خطير جدا.idhâ qadhafati l-fûhatu ramâdan, fal-hawâ'u khatîrun jiddan.

If the crater spews ash, then the air is very dangerous.

يا عائشة، إذا سمعت صوت ثوران، فقد يقذف البركان رمادا.yâ â'ishah, idhâ sami'ti sawta thawarânin, faqad yaqdhifu al-burkânu ramâdâ

Aisha, if you hear the sound of an eruption, then the volcano might spew ash.

إذا ازداد البركان ضغطا، فالكارثة قريبة.idhâ izdâda al-burkânu daghtan, falkârithatu qarîbatun.

If the volcano increases in pressure, then the disaster is near.

إذا رأيت الصهارة، فلا تقتربي من الفوهة.idhâ ra'ayti as-suhârata, falâ taqtaribî min al-fûhati

If you see the magma, then do not approach the crater.

إذا تدفقت الحمم تدفقا سريعا، فاهرب.idhâ tadaffaqati l-humamu tadaffuqan sarî'an, fahrub.

If the lava flows rapidly, then escape.

يا مريم، إذا نظرت جيدا، فكم من بذرة في هذا البهار!yâ maryamu, idhâ nazarti jayyidan, fakam min badhratin fî hâdhâ al-bahâri!

يجب عليك أن تطلب تعويضا إذا كان الطرد مخدوشا زجاجه.yajibu 'alayka an tatluba ta'widan idha kana at-tardu makhdushan zujajuhu.

يمكن للمستخدمة استرجاع المال إذا كان المنتج مفتوحا تغليفه.yumkinu lilmustakhdimati istirjâu almâli idhâ kâna almuntaju maftûhan taghlîfuhu

The user can get a refund if the product's packaging is opened.

إذا رفض التسوية، لأقاضينه ولأرفعن دعوى ضده.idhâ rafada at-taswiyata, la'uqâdiyannahu wa-la'arfa'anna da'wâ diddahu.

If he refuses the settlement, I will definitely sue him and I will definitely file a lawsuit against him.

لأقاضينك إذا لم تضمن حقي.la'uqâdiyannaka idhâ lam tadman haqqî.

I will definitely sue you if you do not guarantee my right.

إذا أخفيت أحد الأصول فهذا تهرب، سواء كنت غنيا أو فقيرا.idhâ akhfayta ahada al-usûli fahâdhâ taharrubun, sawâ'un kunta ghaniyyan aw faqîran.

If you hide one of the assets then this is evasion, whether you are rich or poor.

لا توافقي يا فاطمة إلا إذا قيمت المناقصتين كلتيهما، فالأمر خطير.lâ tuwâfiqî yâ fâṭimatu illâ idhâ qayyamti al-munâqaṣatayni kiltayhimâ, fal-amru khaṭîrun

Do not agree, Fatima, unless you have evaluated both tenders, for the matter is serious.

إذا جلست قرب النهر، سمعت خرير الماء.idhâ jalasta qurba an-nahri, sami'ta kharîra al-mâ'

If you sit near the river, you hear the murmuring of the water.

إذا هبت الرياح القوية، سمعت صفيرها.idhâ habbati r-riyâhu l-qawiyyatu, samiʿta safîrahâ.
