Estudiar means "to study" and is a fully regular -ar verb. You will use it constantly when talking about school, university, and learning in general, and it also serves as a reliable model for hundreds of other -ar verbs.

In Latin American Spanish, estudiar can mean both the act of studying for an exam and the broader sense of pursuing a degree or a field. Estudio medicina means "I'm studying medicine" as a career, not just for tonight's test.

Note the spelling: estudiar keeps an i before the ending in most forms. It is never estud-yo; always estudio. The stressed vowel is always the u in estúdi-o.
