Lesson 3

Let's have some more 'm' words:

  • muhandisi - engineer
  • mpishi - cook / chief
  • muuguzi - nurse
  • mtu - person
  • mgeni - guest
  • mkulima - farmer
  • mvuvi - fisherman
  • msafiri - traveler
  • mtoto - child
  • mzazi - parent
  • msichana - girl

Now, none of these words had a 'w'. When we build the plural we drop the 'm' as we have done before, but now we add 'wa' to the beginning of the words.

*Careful with muuguzi. One of the 'u's drops as well, but then who would want to pronounce 'wa-u-u-guzi' Sounds to much like 'ouch' for some nurses :D

One last vocabulary before we start:

  • na - and
