Questions & Answers about Sahte ürünler satan siteler her zaman tüketiciye zarar veriyor.
Why is it satan and not sattığı?
The word satan uses the -An suffix because the sites are the ones doing the selling (they are the subject). If you wanted to say the products that the sites sell, you would use the object participle -dIk and say sitelerin sattığı ürünler.
Why does tüketici have the -ye suffix here?
The verb phrase zarar vermek (to harm or to give harm) requires the dative case for the person or thing being harmed. Because tüketici ends in a vowel, it takes the buffer letter -y- followed by the dative ending -e, making it tüketiciye.
Is it necessary to make siteler plural if ürünler is already plural?
Yes, because they refer to different things. The plural on ürünler means multiple products, while siteler means multiple sites. Unlike when you use a specific number (like iki site), a general plural noun takes the -lAr suffix.
Could we put her zaman at the very beginning of the sentence?
Yes, you can move her zaman to the start. However, placing it right before the object and verb emphasizes that the harming itself happens all the time. In Turkish, words placed closer to the verb get more emphasis.
