Questions & Answers about Sadık ve bekârsa çok şanslısın.
Why does only bekâr have the -sa ending, while sadık doesn't?
When you join multiple adjectives with ve (and) that apply to the same subject, you only need to add the conditional ending to the very last word. Sadık ve bekârsa covers both words. Saying sadıksa ve bekârsa would be understood but sounds slightly repetitive.
How do we know the first part means 'If he is loyal and single' when there is no pronoun for 'he'?
The suffix -sa is the base conditional ending for the third person singular (he/she/it). If it meant 'if you are', it would have a personal ending added, becoming bekârsan. Because it is just -sa with no personal ending, we know it refers to a third person like 'he' or 'she'.
Why is the suffix -sa used here instead of -se?
The conditional suffix follows 2-way vowel harmony. Because the last vowel in bekâr is a back vowel, it takes the back vowel ending -sa. If it were a word with a front vowel like güzel (beautiful), it would be güzelse.
