Questions & Answers about Saat kaçta geliyorsun?
Why do we say kaçta here instead of just kaç?
How is the verb geliyorsun built?
It starts with the verb root gel (come). We add a connecting vowel -i, then the present continuous suffix -yor (which acts like '-ing' in English), and finally the personal suffix -sun which means 'you'. Together it means 'you are coming'.
Why isn't the word for 'you' (sen) included in this sentence?
In Turkish, you usually do not need to say the subject pronoun because the verb ending already shows who is doing the action. The -sun ending on geliyorsun makes it perfectly clear that 'you' are the one coming.
Why is the question phrase saat kaçta placed where it is?
In Turkish, question words usually sit right before the verb. Since the verb geliyorsun is at the end of the sentence, the time phrase saat kaçta naturally goes right in front of it.
