How do we get 'our report' from the single word raporumuz?
The base word is rapor (report). To say 'our', we attach the possessive suffix -umuz. Since rapor ends in a consonant and its last vowel is 'o', 4-way vowel harmony dictates we use the 'u' version of the suffix.
Shouldn't the word bizim (our) be at the beginning of the sentence?
You can include it for emphasis (Bizim raporumuz hazır değil), but it is completely optional. The suffix -umuz already makes it perfectly clear that the report belongs to 'us', so Turkish speakers usually drop bizim.
Why do we use the separate word değil to mean 'not' instead of a negative suffix?
