Why is there an -ın at the end of adın?
In Turkish, possession is shown by adding a suffix directly to the noun. The base word is ad (name). To say "your name", we add the 2nd person singular possessive suffix -ın, making it adın.
If adın already means "your name", why do we also need Senin at the beginning?
You do not strictly need it! Adın ne? is perfectly correct and very common on its own. Adding the pronoun Senin (your) just adds emphasis, like saying "What is your name?"
Why does senin use an "i" but adın uses an "ı"?
This is due to 4-way vowel harmony. The suffix changes its vowel to match the last vowel of the root word. The vowel in sen is "e", so it pairs with "i" to become senin. The vowel in ad is "a", so it pairs with the undotted "ı" to become adın.
Where is the word for "is" in this sentence?
There isn't one! In simple Turkish sentences like this, the "to be" verb (am/is/are) is often just implied. You are literally saying "Your name what?"
