Numbers 11 to 20 (on bir, on iki)

In Turkish, counting from 11 to 19 is straightforward. Simply take the word for ten (on) and add the single digit right after it, written as two separate words.

For example, 11 is literally "ten one" (on bir), and 12 is "ten two" (on iki).

The word for twenty is yirmi. It follows the exact same grammatical rules:

We are twenty friends.
Biz yirmi arkadaşız.
Twenty doors are closed.
Yirmi kapı kapalı.
