Questions & Answers about ผม ตื่น ตอนเช้า ทุกวัน ครับ
Can I put ทุกวัน (every day) at the beginning of the sentence?
Yes, you can! In Thai, time words can often go at the very beginning or the very end of a sentence. So, ทุกวัน ผมตื่นตอนเช้าครับ is also perfectly natural. Putting it at the beginning just adds a little extra emphasis to the fact that it happens every day.
We have two time phrases here: ตอนเช้า and ทุกวัน. Does their order matter?
In English, we usually say the specific time before the broader time (in the morning, then every day). Thai often does exactly the same thing! You will usually hear the specific time of day (ตอนเช้า) followed by the broader frequency or day (ทุกวัน).
Why is there no word for "in" before ตอนเช้า?
The word ตอน refers to a period or section of time. When combined with เช้า (morning), ตอนเช้า already means "during the morning" or "in the morning". You do not need to add an extra preposition.
If I wanted to say "I woke up in the morning yesterday", would the verb ตื่น change?
No, Thai verbs never change their form to show tense! You would just swap out ทุกวัน (every day) for เมื่อวาน (yesterday). The time word alone does all the work of telling the listener when it happened.
