Unconditional concessive (ไม่ว่า... ก็...)

The Unconditional Concessive

To express that an action, decision, or state will remain true regardless of the circumstances, Thai uses the structure ไม่ว่า... ก็... (no matter... still/anyway).

The first clause establishes the hypothetical or extreme condition using ไม่ว่า (no matter). This is frequently paired with จะ (will) to show that the situation is potential or ongoing. The main clause introduces its action with ก็ to emphasize that the result is unwavering.

To say "no matter how", you frame the descriptive word or hardship between ไม่ว่า จะ and ยังไง.

Using Question Words

You can also build these unconditional clauses using question words like อะไร (what) or ใคร (who). Place the question word directly after ไม่ว่า to express "no matter what" or "no matter who".

Specifying the Situation

Instead of an open-ended question word, you can explicitly state the subject, situation, or obstacle that is causing the hardship. Simply place the specific noun right after ไม่ว่า.
