Forming Adverbs with เป็น
In Thai, you can create formal adverbial phrases by combining the copula เป็น (to be) with a noun. This construction is highly common in medical settings to specify the frequency or duration of an action.
- เป็นประจำ (on a regular basis / regularly)
- เป็นระยะ (periodically)
- เป็นเวลา (for a period of)

To express the negative, place ไม่ before เป็น.
