Expressing Preference with ชอบ ... มากกว่า

To state that you like one thing more than another, use the verb ชอบ (to like) and the comparison word มากกว่า (more than).

  • ชอบ
    • [Preferred Noun] + มากกว่า
      • [Less Preferred Noun]

To emphasize whose preference is being discussed, you can start the sentence with สำหรับ (for / as for).

Comparing Actions

The same structure applies when comparing actions or activities:

  • ชอบ
    • [Preferred Action] + มากกว่า
      • [Less Preferred Action]

When the action is the same for both items, you only need to state the verb once:
