Classifier for long thin objects (เส้น)

The Classifier เส้น

In Thai, classifiers are required when counting or pointing out specific nouns. For long, thin, flexible objects like electrical wires, networking cables, ropes, and even noodles, the classifier is เส้น.

When counting these items, use the standard pattern Noun + Number + Classifier.

Pointing Out Specific Objects

To specify a particular object using a demonstrative like "this" or "that", use the structure Noun + Classifier + Demonstrative.

When combining numbers and demonstratives, stack them at the end of the phrase: Noun + Number + Classifier + Demonstrative.

Using Adjectives

When adding an adjective, it immediately follows the noun: Noun + Adjective + Classifier + Demonstrative.
