Adverbs of manner (อย่าง)

The Mission Briefing

Before learning how to move stealthily, you will need the basic vocabulary for your mission. Words like ปฏิบัติ (to execute or perform) and ภารกิจ (mission) are frequently used in formal contexts and operations.

Adverbs of Manner with อย่าง

To describe how an action is performed, Thai uses the word อย่าง (in a way that) directly followed by a stative verb (an adjective). This structure functions much like the "-ly" suffix in English.

The standard pattern is: [Verb Phrase] + อย่าง + [Adjective].

Modifying Complex Actions

The adverb phrase simply attaches to the end of the action it describes. If the verb has an object, อย่าง and the adjective are placed immediately after the object.
