Questions & Answers about Affärsplanen är inte alls bra.
How exactly does inte alls work in this sentence compared to just using inte?
inte alls translates to "not at all". While inte simply makes the sentence negative, adding alls immediately after it acts as an emphatic modifier. It strengthens the negation to an absolute degree, emphasizing that the plan isn't even slightly good.
Where does inte alls go if this sentence becomes a subordinate clause, like "I think that the business plan is not good at all"?
It stays together as a single block and follows the BIFF rule, which requires moving the negation before the first verb in a subordinate clause. You would say: Jag tycker att affärsplanen inte alls är bra.
Why is there an s in the middle of affärsplanen?
This is a compound noun made of affär (business) and planen (the plan). The s in the middle is a linking letter (often called a fog-s) used to connect certain nouns together smoothly. It is not a possessive "s" here, but rather a structural glue holding the compound together.
Since Affärsplanen is a definite noun, shouldn't the adjective bra end in an -a?
Normally, adjectives take an -a ending when describing a definite noun. However, bra is a special exception. It is an indeclinable adjective, meaning it never changes form. It stays bra regardless of whether the noun is singular, plural, definite, or indefinite.
