Questions & Answers about Här är våra biljetter.
Why do we use våra here instead of vår or vårt?
Possessive pronouns in Swedish change to match the word they own. Because biljetter (tickets) is plural, we use the plural form våra. If it were a singular en-word, we would use vår (like vår biljett), and for a singular ett-word, we would use vårt (like vårt hus).
Why is the noun biljetter in the indefinite form instead of the definite biljetterna?
Just like in English, we do not say 'our the tickets.' When you use a possessive pronoun like våra (our), the noun that follows it must be in the indefinite (basic) form without the extra 'the' ending.
Does the verb är change because the word 'tickets' is plural?
No, Swedish verbs are very straightforward! The verb är stays exactly the same no matter if the subject is singular or plural. It translates to 'am', 'is', and 'are' in English.
Why does the verb är come right after Här?
This is the Swedish V2 (verb-second) rule in action. In a standard sentence, the verb must be the second piece of information. Since Här (Here) takes the first position, the verb är (are) must come immediately next.
