Reacting to facts with "el hecho de que"
When you state an established fact and offer an opinion or emotional reaction to it, use the phrase el hecho de que (the fact that).
Even though you are talking about something true, the emotional reaction or value judgment attached to it requires the verb following el hecho de que to be in the subjunctive.
