Comparing Things: "As... As"
To say two things share a quality equally ("as... as"), use tan followed by an adjective, and then como.
tan + adjective + como
| My camera is as modern as your phone. | Mi cámara es tan moderna como tu teléfono. |
| This model is as expensive as that one. | Este modelo es tan caro como ese. |
Adjective Agreement
The adjective must match the gender and number of the first noun you are describing. Notice how cómodos matches los zapatos nuevos below.
| The new shoes are as comfortable as the old model. | Los zapatos nuevos son tan cómodos como el modelo viejo. |
"Not As... As"
To say something is not as... as another, simply add no before the verb.
| This camera is not as light as ours. | Esta cámara no es tan ligera como la nuestra. |
| The new model is not as practical as the old one. | El modelo nuevo no es tan práctico como el viejo. |
