Adverbs of Frequency
Use adverbs of frequency to express how often you do something. Common ones include siempre (always), a menudo (often), a veces (sometimes), and nunca (never).
While adverbs like siempre and nunca usually go right before the verb, phrases like a veces and a menudo are more flexible and can go at the beginning or end of a sentence.
| I always meditate; it is my routine. | Siempre medito; es mi rutina. |
| Sometimes I practice yoga. | A veces practico yoga. |
| I often train at the gym. | A menudo entreno en el gimnasio. |
| He never has the habit of meditating. | Él nunca tiene el hábito de meditar. |
Using Casi
Add casi (almost) before siempre or nunca to modify them, just like in English.
| I almost always wake up early. | Casi siempre me levanto temprano. |
| We almost never go to the beach. | Casi nunca vamos a la playa. |
Normalmente
To describe what you usually do, use normalmente (normally). It is typically placed at the beginning of the sentence to introduce a routine.
| Normally I wash my face early. | Normalmente me lavo la cara temprano. |
| Normally we go to the beach. | Normalmente vamos a la playa. |
