Questions & Answers about Я хочу сделать всю работу один, исключительно для тебя.
Why is один used here for 'alone', and what case is it in?
In Russian, 'alone' is often expressed using the pronoun один. It acts like an adjective describing the subject я. Because я is the subject of the sentence, один is in the nominative case.
How would this sentence change if the speaker were a woman?
The word один must match the gender of the speaker. If a woman is speaking, it changes to the feminine form одна. The rest of the sentence stays exactly the same.
Why use the perfective verb сделать instead of the imperfective делать?
The speaker wants to complete a specific, defined amount of work (всю работу). The perfective сделать focuses on successfully finishing the task to get a result, rather than just the process of working.
Why do we say всю работу instead of вся работа?
'All the work' is the direct object of the verb сделать, which means it needs to be in the accusative case. The feminine noun работа changes to работу, and its modifier вся changes to всю to match.
Why does ты change to at the end of the sentence?
