Questions & Answers about Мы нашли несколько интересных вариантов.
Why are интересных and вариантов in the genitive plural here?
The word несколько (several) acts like a quantity word. Just like the numbers 5 and above, it requires the noun and any adjectives describing that noun to be in the genitive plural case.
How do we form the genitive plural for the adjective интересных?
The dictionary form is интересный. For adjectives with a hard stem, you replace the -ый ending with -ых to make it genitive plural. This is why it becomes интересных.
What is the dictionary form of вариантов and why does it end in -ов?
The base word is вариант, which is a masculine noun ending in a hard consonant. In the genitive plural, regular masculine nouns ending in a hard consonant take the -ов ending.
