Purpose clauses (чтобы)

To explain why you are doing something, use a purpose clause with чтобы ("in order to" or simply "to").

in order to
чтобы

When the subject is the same in both parts of the sentence, чтобы is followed directly by an infinitive verb. Always place a comma before чтобы.

Ambitions and Goals

Use чтобы and an infinitive to talk about life goals, such as enrolling in a university, getting an education, or building a career.

Earning for a Goal

To specify what you are earning or saving money for, use the preposition на (for) followed by the item in the accusative case.

You can also use чтобы to explain reasons for gaining practical experience (опыт).
