Hair
You already know blond and brunet (dark-haired). Two more cover most people: șaten (brown-haired) and roșcat (red-haired). Like every adjective they agree: șaten, șatenă, șateni, șatene.
| My brother is brown-haired. | Fratele meu este șaten. |
| My sister is red-haired. | Sora mea este roșcată. |
| The children are brown-haired, but their mother is blond. | Copiii sunt șateni, dar mama lor este blondă. |
Eyes
Eyes are described with a avea and the plural ochii: Are ochii albaștri — he has blue eyes. Brown eyes are căprui, a word used only for eyes; for brown things in general you already have maro.
| eyes | |
|---|---|
| brown | ochii căprui |
| blue | ochii albaștri |
| green | ochii verzi |
| black | ochii negri |
| The girl has brown eyes. | Fata are ochii căprui. |
| Do you have brown or green eyes? | Ai ochii căprui sau verzi? |
Build and the beard
Gras (fat) and slab (thin) describe the body. Slab also means weak — for a person, or for coffee. A man are barbă (has a beard) — no article and no o.
| The boy is tall and thin. | Băiatul este înalt și slab. |
| The coffee is weak. | Cafeaua este slabă. |
| Our cat is fat. | Pisica noastră este grasă. |
| The grandfather has a white beard. | Bunicul are barbă albă. |
