Why isn't there a word for 'in the' before rano?
The word rano functions as an adverb meaning 'in the morning.' Polish doesn't use a preposition with it here; you just use the word on its own.
Why doesn't the verb myję have się after it? I thought washing verbs usually needed it.
You only use się when you are washing yourself generally, like taking a bath (myję się). Because you are specifying exactly what body part you are washing (twarz), the verb takes a direct object and the się is dropped.
