Verbs Governing "na" + Accusative
Many Polish verbs of expectation, mental focus, or reaction pair with the preposition na followed by the Accusative case.
As a quick reminder for how the Accusative behaves with logistical vocabulary:
- Inanimate masculine nouns (kosztorys, przebieg) and neuter nouns (zapotrzebowanie, zaopatrzenie) remain identical to their dictionary forms.
- Masculine personal nouns ending in -a (podwykonawca) take the feminine -ę ending (podwykonawcę).
Focus and Expectation
Use na + Accusative with verbs like liczyć na (to count on), czekać na (to wait for), and zwracać uwagę na (to pay attention to).

Reaction, Agreement, and Preparation
Other common verbs following this pattern include:
- narzekać na – to complain about
- przystać na – to agree to
- nastawiać się na – to prepare for
Modifying adjectives like nieprzewidziane (unforeseen) also use their Accusative forms, matching the noun they describe.
