Pointing forward to a result

Ponieważ and dlatego give a reason inside one sentence. These phrases link a result to a reason given in the PREVIOUS sentence.

for that reason

z tego powodu — for that reason (z + Genitive of powód).

in connection with that, therefore (formal)

w związku z tym — in connection with that, therefore — the formal, written one, typical of notices and letters.

thanks to that

dzięki temu — thanks to that — a result you are glad about. It is the Dative temu after dzięki, which you met in the last lesson.

Purpose

in order to, so that

po to, żeby — in order to — makes the purpose explicit; plain żeby would do, but po to stresses it.

Since — a reason both of you already know

seeing that, since (a reason taken as given)

skoro — since, as — opens a reason that is taken as given, and the main clause draws the conclusion. Unlike ponieważ, it cannot answer dlaczego?
