Choosing a mobile plan often means comparing data limits, text messages, and roaming costs. To express proportional equality, Polish uses the phrase tyle samo.
As Much As: Tyle samo, co
To say "the same amount" or "as much," use tyle samo. When comparing two actions or situations directly, follow it with co to mean "as".
| I pay the same amount for the subscription as you. | Płacę za abonament tyle samo, co ty. |
| the same amount | tyle samo |
Comparing Quantities: Tyle samo ..., ile ...
To specify what you have the same amount of, place the noun directly after tyle samo, and then use ile (or co) for the "as" part.
Because tyle is a quantifier indicating an amount, the noun that follows it must be in the Genitive case:
- Use the Genitive Singular for uncountable nouns (like transferu).
- Use the Genitive Plural for countable nouns (like gigabajtów or danych).
| This tariff offers the same amount of transfer as that one. | Ta taryfa oferuje tyle samo transferu, ile tamta. |
| In roaming, we have the same amount of gigabytes as in Poland. | W roamingu mamy tyle samo gigabajtów, ile w Polsce. |
| This operator offers the same amount of data as that one. | Ten operator oferuje tyle samo danych, ile tamten. |
| We have the same amount of text messages, but you use more transfer. | Mamy tyle samo SMS-ów, ale ty wykorzystujesz więcej transferu. |
Unlimited Plans
When talking about mobile plans, you will frequently encounter the word for "unlimited". Nielimitowany acts as a normal adjective, modifying its ending to match the gender, number, and case of the noun it describes—such as plural texts (SMS-y) or calls (połączenia).
| My new tariff includes unlimited calls, as well as text messages. | Moja nowa taryfa zawiera nielimitowane połączenia, a także SMS-y. |
| Do you have unlimited text messages as well as roaming in your plan? | Czy w abonamencie masz nielimitowane SMS-y, a także roaming? |
| unlimited | nielimitowany |
