### Masculine Nouns (-ek)

For masculine nouns, the most common diminutive suffix is **-ek**, attached to the end of the word. The root sometimes shifts slightly to accommodate it (for example, dropping a vowel so *pies* becomes *piesek*).

### Feminine Nouns (-ka)

Feminine nouns typically form diminutives with the suffix **-ka**, replacing the final **-a** of the original noun.

### Neuter Nouns (-ko) and Friendly Food

Neuter nouns form their diminutives by replacing their final **-o** with the suffix **-ko** (*okno* becomes *okienko*; *drzewo* becomes *drzewko*).
