The Preposition "Przed" (Before)
The preposition przed translates to "before." While it can describe physical location (meaning "in front of"), in this lesson we are focusing on time: talking about actions that happen before an event or activity.
When using przed to say "before [something]," the noun that follows it must take the Instrumental case.

Describing Preparation and Emotions
Talking about upcoming events often involves discussing preparation and our feelings. Verbs like stresować się (to stress out) or nouns like trema (stage fright) pair perfectly with przed.
When you add an adjective to describe the event, remember that both the adjective and the noun take Instrumental endings. As a quick refresher:
- Masculine and Neuter: -ym/-im (adjective) + -em/-iem (noun)
- Feminine: -ą (adjective) + -ą (noun)
