The conditional particle たら

You can use the conditional particle 〜たら to indicate that the phrase that the main clause (the phrase that succeeds it) happens after the subordinate clause (the phrase that precedes it), and is or was conditional on it.

The particle 〜たら can be used after nouns, adjectives and verbs.

Past verb ending in た + 〜ら食たべたら
い-adjective in past ending in かった + 〜ら安やすかったら
な-adjective + だったら安あん全ぜん だったら
noun + だったら暇ひま だったら

Below are some example sentences using 〜たら.

Unlike with the particle と, when using the particle 〜たら, the main clause can be a command, request, suggestion or invitation.
