Tyggja is a highly irregular verb. In the present tense, the -ja drops and the stem changes, giving us ég tygg (I chew) and þú tyggur (you chew). It is one of those verbs you just have to memorize!

Biti is a masculine weak noun. Because it is the direct object of tekur (you take), it takes the accusative case, becoming bita. Then, to say the bite, we add the masculine accusative definite article -nn, giving us bitann.
