Why do the verbs end in -в, and how would they change if the speaker were female or plural?
In the past tense, Ukrainian verbs agree with the subject in gender and number.
- Masculine singular: пропустив, виправив (as in the sentence)
- Feminine singular: пропустила, виправила
- Neuter singular: пропустило, виправило
- Plural (any gender): пропустили, виправили
What aspect are пропустив and виправив, and why not пропускав/виправляв?
- пропустив, виправив are perfective: single, completed actions with a result.
