What tense is Proveriću informaciju?
It is future tense, specifically future I in Serbian.
The verb proveriću means I will check / I will verify. It comes from the verb proveriti and the future auxiliary ću.
So, grammatically:
- proveriti = to check / to verify
- ću = I will
- proveriću = I will check
Why is proveriću written as one word?
Because in standard Serbian, when the future auxiliary ću comes directly after an infinitive ending in -ti, it attaches to the verb and the -ti drops.
So:
- proveriti + ću → proveriću
This is very common:
- uraditi + ću → uradiću
- videti + ću → videću
- proveriti + ću → proveriću
But if the auxiliary comes before the infinitive, it stays separate:
- Ja ću proveriti informaciju.
Both are correct; they are just built differently.
