Why is Iskreno at the beginning, and what exactly does it mean here?
Iskreno means honestly or frankly.
At the beginning of the sentence, it works like a sentence adverb: it comments on the whole statement, not just one word. So Iskreno, ne volim ovu vežbu. means something like Honestly, I don’t like this exercise.
You could also hear it in other positions, but sentence-initial position is very natural:
- Iskreno, ne znam. = Honestly, I don’t know.
