Why is there no verb like есть or быть in Ваш компьютер быстрый?
In present-tense Russian, the copula (“to be”) is usually omitted. You simply state the subject (Ваш компьютер) and the predicate adjective (быстрый) to mean “Your computer is fast.” If you need past or future, you’d use был or будет:
• Ваш компьютер был быстрым – Your computer was fast.
• Ваш компьютер будет быстрым – Your computer will be fast.
Why is Ваш capitalized?
Because it’s the first word of the sentence. Russian orthography capitalizes the opening word, not the pronoun itself. If ваш appeared later, it would be lowercase.
What does Ваш mean, and when do I use it instead of твой?
Ваш is the formal (or plural) “your.” Use it when addressing someone politely (e.g., strangers, clients, superiors) or when speaking to more than one person. Твой is informal singular “your,” used among friends, family, or equals.
