Questions & Answers about האיש הזה ראוי לאמון.
Because in present-tense Hebrew, sentences like X is Y usually do not use a verb meaning to be.
So:
- האיש הזה ראוי לאמון literally looks like: the-man this worthy of-trust
- but it means: This man is worthy of trust
This is called a nominal sentence. In the present tense, Hebrew normally leaves out is / are / am.
Compare:
- הוא עייף = He is tired
- הספר מעניין = The book is interesting
But in the past or future, Hebrew does use forms of להיות (to be).
