To make these pitches flow naturally, they use connectors of addition. Adverbial connectors like außerdem, zudem, and darüber hinaus link points together, similar to "furthermore," "moreover," or "beyond that."
Word order with adverbial connectors
Because these connectors are adverbs, they take up a structural position in the sentence. When placed at the beginning of a clause (Position 1), the conjugated verb must immediately follow in Position 2. The subject is then pushed to Position 3.
Außerdem (Furthermore)
Außerdem is one of the most common ways to say "furthermore" or "besides."

Zudem (Moreover)
Zudem means "moreover" or "additionally." It is used exactly like außerdem and helps vary your vocabulary.

Darüber hinaus (Beyond that)
Darüber hinaus translates to "beyond that" or "furthermore." Even though it is made up of two words, it functions as a single block. When it starts a sentence, the entire phrase takes up Position 1, meaning the conjugated verb comes right after hinaus.
