Ready for the next level?
When feminine words ending in -e are the first word of a combo, we add an -n to this word. We call this a Fugen-n. (We is a great overstatement. Nobody I know of (including myself) has ever thought of calling it anything. We simply do it and don't even notice that we do...)
Let's look at some examples:
Feminine words ending in -e: die Suppe / die Tomate / die Karotte / die Orange
die Tomate + n + die Suppe = die Tomatensuppe
Alles klar? Let's go!
