Emphasizing "Me" and "You"
In French, use stressed pronouns to emphasize who you are talking about (like "Me, I am..." or "And you?") or when a pronoun stands alone.
| Who, me? | Qui, moi ? |
| Me, I am happy, and you? | Moi, je suis content, et toi ? |
After Prepositions
Stressed pronouns are also used after prepositions like pour (for) or avec (with). You cannot use standard subject pronouns (like je or tu) here.
| Is it for me? | C'est pour moi ? |
| I am here for you. | Je suis ici pour toi. |
The Full List

| tu | toi | you (informal) |
| il | lui | him |
| elle | elle | her |
| nous | nous | us |
| vous | vous | you (plural/formal) |
| ils | eux | them (masculine/mixed) |
| elles | elles | them (feminine) |

"Chez" (At Someone's Home)
The preposition chez means "at the home/place of." Combine it with a stressed pronoun to talk about someone's home, like chez moi (at my house) or chez eux (at their place).
| Who is at your place? | Qui est chez toi ? |
| They are at home now. | Ils sont chez eux maintenant. |
You will also use stressed pronouns after other prepositions, like sans (without):
| Me, I am here without him. | Moi, je suis ici sans lui. |
