Stating Obvious Reasons with "Puisque"

Use puisque (since) to give a reason that is already known, obvious, or evident to the listener.

Since you like trinkets, we are going to the flea market.
Puisque tu aimes les bibelots, nous allons à la brocante.
Since this trinket is expensive, I am buying nothing.
Puisque ce bibelot est cher, je n'achète rien.

Like the English word "since", puisque can appear at the beginning of a sentence, or it can connect two ideas in the middle.

Since it is rare, it has value.
Puisque c'est rare, ça a de la valeur.
Negotiate the price, since the condition is bad!
Négocie le prix, puisque l'état est mauvais !
Since you are hesitating, we are not buying this trinket.
Puisque tu hésites, nous n'achetons pas ce bibelot.

Drop the final e and add an apostrophe when puisque is followed by il, elle, ils, elles, or on.

I am selling this object since it is not in my collection.
Je vends cet objet puisqu'il n'est pas dans ma collection.
