The Negative Conditional
To state what you would not do, use the negative conditional.
Form this with the conjugated negative verb (en, et, ei, emme, ette, eivät) followed by the main verb's conditional stem (ending in -isi). Unlike the affirmative conditional, you do not add a personal ending to the main verb.

To add emphasis to your boundaries, include the word ikinä (never).
| I would never touch a spider. | Minä en ikinä koskisi hämähäkkiin. |
| She would not touch that insect. | Hän ei koskisi tuohon hyönteiseen. |
Daring and Agreeing
The negative conditional is often paired with verbs like uskaltaa (to dare) or suostua (to agree) to discuss limits or situations you would avoid at all costs.

| We would not dare to look at those sharks. | Me emme uskaltaisi katsoa noita haita. |
| He would never go into that dark cave. | Hän ei ikinä menisi tuohon pimeään luolaan. |
