Learn Farsi: در هر صورت، وقت‌کشی کردن بیهوده است.

dar har surat literally means 'in every case' or 'in any form'. In this lesson's context, it is a discourse marker used to dismiss whatever was just said—perhaps a list of excuses for delaying a project—and abruptly steer the conversation back to the undeniable bottom line: wasting time is pointless.

What is the literal breakdown of vaght-koshi kardan?

It combines vaght (time) and koshi (killing, from the verb koshtan). With kardan (to do), it means 'to do time-killing'. You will see this -koshi noun pattern in other B2-level compound words, such as khod-koshi (suicide, literally 'self-killing').

Why is the infinitive kardan used here without being conjugated?

In Farsi, the full infinitive can function as a verbal noun (gerund) to act as the subject of a sentence. Here, vaght-koshi kardan functions as a noun phrase meaning 'the act of wasting time', which is the subject being described as pointless.

How is the word bihudeh (pointless) constructed?

It starts with the common negative prefix bi- meaning 'without'. The second part, hudeh, is a classical Farsi word for 'profit' or 'result'. So it translates perfectly to 'useless' or 'pointless'.
