Why is there an -e attached to the end of dokhtar (دختره)?
In colloquial spoken Farsi, adding the suffix -e (written as ه) to a noun makes it specific or definite. It acts like "the" or "that" in English. So dokhtare means "the girl" or "that girl."
The translation says "That girl," so why isn't the word ān (آن) used here?
While you could say ān dokhtar in formal written Farsi, spoken Farsi usually drops ān and just uses the definite suffix -e on the noun instead. It sounds much more natural for everyday speech.
What does the -e at the end of mane (منه) do?
This final -e (ه) is the informal, shortened version of the verb ast (است), meaning "is." In spoken Farsi, ast almost always shrinks to an -e sound attached to the previous word.
