Why isn't there an ezafe (the short "e" sound) between آهنگ and زیبا?
In Farsi, you only use the ezafe to connect a noun to an adjective that modifies it directly, like in the phrase "this beautiful song" (این آهنگِ زیبا). In our sentence, "beautiful" is the predicate describing what the song is, so there is no ezafe. The sentence structure is literally "This song beautiful is."
How is this sentence usually pronounced in everyday spoken Farsi?
In casual conversation, native speakers almost never say the full word است (ast). Because زیبا ends in a long vowel, the verb attaches directly to it, making it زیباست (zibast). You will mostly hear it written and spoken this way in everyday life.
