How does the word for 'is' attach to 'here' in this sentence?
The word for 'here' is اینجا (inja), which ends in a vowel. As your current lesson covers, when the verb است (ast - is) follows a word ending in a vowel, it drops its first letter and attaches directly to the word as ـست (st). Therefore, اینجا plus است becomes اینجاست (injast).
Is it okay to write or say اینجا است as two separate words instead?
It is technically correct, but you will almost never see or hear it separated. Because اینجا ends in a long vowel, blending it into اینجاست flows much better and is the standard practice in both casual speech and formal writing.
Why use آره instead of the standard word for 'yes'?
