The standard negative prefix is 'na'. However, a special pronunciation rule happens in the present tense: whenever the negative prefix attaches directly to the می prefix, it changes its sound to 'ne'. This makes it easier to say نمی‌پوشند (ne-mi-push-and).

The English translation says 'white shirts' in the plural, but the Farsi sentence uses the singular پیراهن (shirt). Why?

In Farsi, when you are talking about a general category or habit rather than counting specific items, you often leave the noun in its singular form. Since they are talking about the general concept of wearing white shirts, پیراهن سفید stays singular.

I learned that در means 'in', but here it translates to 'at the party'. Why is that?
