Present perfect of compound verbs

Many technology and social media actions—like posting photos or updating your profile—use compound verbs. Let's look at how to use them in the present perfect tense.

Conjugating Compound Verbs

A compound verb consists of a non-verbal word and a "light verb" like کردن (to do/make).

To form the present perfect, only conjugate the light verb. The non-verbal part stays exactly the same and sits right before it. For example, change کردن into its present perfect form, such as کرده‌ام (I have done).

Questions and Negation

When asking a question or making a negative statement, all grammatical changes happen on the light verb. Add the negative prefix نـ directly to the past participle (for example, نکرده‌ام).
